Digital Waste Tracking answers for asphalt and planings operators.
Does the October 2026 deadline apply to tipper carriers?
Not generally. The first mandatory phase is for permitted or licensed receiving sites in England and Wales. The wider phase for waste collectors, including carriers, brokers and dealers, is currently planned for October 2027.
Does DWT apply to road planings?
It depends on the legal status and route for the material. Where planings are handled as waste, waste requirements apply. Some same-site asphalt lifting, storage, treatment and reuse can fall outside waste controls, so the route must be assessed for the job.
Does Tipper360 send planings records directly to the Government service?
No. Tipper360 captures and organises the construction movement information. Direct submission through the Government Receipt of Waste API requires compatible software that has integrated with the API and passed production approval testing.
